The U.S. Geological Survey and AmericaView recognize the importance of using Remote Sensing to monitor the Earth and its environments. For nearly 40 years, the data from land remote sensing instruments have provided scientists, land managers, and conservationists an invaluable tool for studying and managing over ever-changing planet. In the spirit of those endeavors we celebrate the first Earth Observation Day on September 21st, 2006. |
